In the BBC television programme Monitor: A Sense of Order (1963) Bawden – who knew Liverpool Street Station very well as he used it regularly whilst travelling between London and Great Bardfield in Essex where he lived – declared:..”I think the ceiling is absolutely magnificant, it is one of the wonders of London”. As here depicted, who could disagree?
