Quality framing?
Our skilled craftspeople work with the finest materials. That’s why our frames last the distance.
Mouldings
We source our mouldings from a wide range of suppliers and the majority come to us as raw woods, which we then hand finish to order.
Oak and ash mouldings we tend to leave in their natural form, sanding and waxing them to bring out the natural beauty of the grain,
Obeche is a farmed wood, fast growing and ideal for painting and guilding. We also carry stocks of prefinished mouldings and also an aluminium range, lightweight and perfect for large scale poster art where only the minimum is required. But our pride is in our hand finishing, where the combination of a huge range of profiles and any finish you can dream up gives us an infinate selection to choose from.
Mounting boards
We usually order in mount-board for each job specifically, so as to ensure its condition, but we do carry stocks of the most frequently used colours, all our boards are white core or 100% cotton rag. All the mounting boards we use fully comply to the Fine Art Trade Guild conservation level.
We also carry boards up to archival standard, and in various thicknesses for the infinite range of possible uses.
Backing Boards
We use specially designed slightly curved board the gives protection from damp, and are of conservation quality.
Mirrors
We make mirrors up to order at any size, in any of our frames, in any finish at all.
Mirrors are wonderful in interiors as they can completely transform a space, doubling its size, bouncing light around, linking areas, reflecting other features, so many good reasons to use them. The choice of frames is completely open as there is no concern about overwhelming artwork so the frame can either blend in with a decorating style or stand alone as a statement piece, ornate gilt, generous simple oak, glamorously painted in jewel colours, classic moulding in a contemporary chalk white, there is an infinite choice…
We can supply flat sheet mirror or beveled mirror or even commission a traditionally hand silvered mirror for an antique appearance. Please talk to us about any ideas you might have or if you have anything more unusual in mind we can source for it for you.
Glass
Glass is available in an increasingly wide range of grades. We use very high quality Pilkington glass as standard and in addition offer uv filtering glass, non reflective glass and up to archival museum quality water white absolutely invisible glass with light refractive optical film…clever stuff!
