Last week I mentioned planning early for Christmas, and this week we are laminating a pair of coastal maps onto foam board as a present for a very keen fisherman (so he can locate all the local wrecks for fishing!) This framing technique means that the paper has a protective film laminated onto its surface, but is still possible to put in markers or pins. It is a very popular presentation for O/S maps for walkers and cyclists too.

We have recently collected an impressive pair of classic paintings in elaborate gilt frames, our brief from our clients is to reframe these paintings in such a way that they will work in a more modern environment. I love a challenge like this as it is exciting to give a new lease of life to classic artwork by using very muted contemporary lacquers - giving a fresh look that is successful in an interior of clean lines and simple details. It is very useful in our work to visit homes and work with the colour schemes and style of our client so that the framing is complimentary.

With Bonfire night behind us we are now getting ready for Christmas and all the gorgeous things we have been holding back are coming out of their boxes, come into the shop and see all the scrumptious decorations we have for you this year.

We are very excited to have a new image hot off the screenprinting press from Henrick Simonsen arriving any day from the print studios at Artizan Editions. A stunning colour combination, Yellow and Blue is yet another superb print from this talented painter and printmaker and will be available from our online print gallery.
